In response to the Middle East refugee crisis, Christian churches of different denominations in St. Lambert, Québec, are working together to privately sponsor refugee families who have no family contacts in Canada and who would otherwise have no other chance of being sponsored. Our sponsorship involves supporting each refugee family financially for one year, as well as helping them to resettle in St. Lambert and to integrate into our culture, while enjoying new-found freedom. Together we wish to help them gain the autonomy they need to become contributing members of our Canadian mosaic.
To finance this undertaking, we are in need of the support of all those whose hearts go out to the millions of innocent people fleeing war, famine, and persecution in the Middle East.
